Casa Relvas
Casa Relvas was established with the intention of preserving the legacy of a family deeply rooted in the land across five generations and two continents. This familial endeavour commenced in 1997 in São Miguel de Machede, Redondo, under the guidance of Alexandre Relvas, who recognised the expansive horizons of his African heritage in the "Herdade de São Miguel." Driven by a profound love for Alentejo and a genuine admiration for its distinctive terroir, the initial phase of this venture involved the reforestation of cork trees, emblematic of the region. However, it was within the vineyards, a cultural tradition spanning over two millennia in the area, where our true passion was unveiled.
Presently, the family manages a total of 350 hectares of vineyards, 900 hectares of forest, and 250 hectares of olive groves. They produce over 6 million bottles per year, 70% of which are exported to more than 30 countries. In the last 10 years, their wines have won more than 500 gold medals in international competitions and have received the highest scores throughout trade press
