Herdade Rocim

Herdade do Rocim is a property set between Vidigueira and Cuba, in the Lower Alentejo, covering about 120 hectares, 70 of which are vineyards and 10 are olive groves. After being bought by Movicortes, SA in 2000, the following years brought much restructuring work and requalification of the land – a time when a large part of the vines, which today make the Herdade, were planted. The planting process followed specific criteria, enabling the production of high-quality grapes. The winery is a critical element of the Herdade do Rocim project, both in the production of its wines and its aesthetic quality, making it a promotional image for the requalification of the whole region.

At Herdade do Rocim all efforts are directed towards craftsmanship with a continual concern for the quality of the wine it produces. After ten years of investing in wine made from already-existing vines, the newly planted vines and the Herdade do Rocim Winery are now part of a top-quality, award-winning entrepreneurial initiative.

Herdade do Rocim was awarded the prize for “Revelation of the Year” 2008, by Revista dos Vinhos.
